How to chrome over dip powder
1. Complete Your Dip Application
Apply your dip powder as usual
2. File & Buff
File, shape, and buff the nail until the surface is smooth and even. Remove all filing dust.
3. Apply Gel Base Coat
Apply a thin, even layer of Gel Base Coat over the entire nail. Cure for a full 30-60 seconds in a UV/LED lamp with 100+ watts.
4. Apply Gel Top Coat
Apply, a thin, even layer of Gel Top Coat over the entire nail. Flash cure for 15-20 seconds in a UV/LED lamp with 100+ watts.
5. Apply the Chrome
Using a chrome applicator, silicone tool, or gloved fingertip, pick up a small amount of chrome powder and rub it firmly into the nail.
Continue rubbing/buffing until the chrome becomes smooth, shiny, and mirror-like.
6. Remove Excess Chrome
Gently brush away any loose chrome powder from the nail and around the edges.
7. Seal the Chrome
Apply another thin layer of Gel Base Coat, cure fully. Then apply a thin layer of Gel Top Coat, making sure to cap the free edge to help prevent chipping or peeling.
8. Final Cure
Cure completely under your lamp 30-60 seconds.
✨ PRO TIP: A little chrome goes a long way! Using too much powder can make it harder to achieve that smooth, reflective finish.
