How to use our Sticky Base

Using Sticky Base with Gel Liquids:

1.  Prepare nail as usual and apply desired layers of dip powder using the gel method.

2.  Apply an even layer of Ritzy Sticky Base, allowing it to air dry until completely clear with no hint of white. Wait time may vary.

3.  If using:

          a. Foil transfers: Cut off enough of the transfer to fit your nail. With the design side facing up, press transfer into place and burnish/rub/press with your finger all around (including nail tips and sidewalls) then quickly pull the transfer off.

           b. Waterslides: Soak the waterslide until the backing slides off.  Dab off remaining water between lint free wipes or paper towels.  Press waterslide into place, making sure to smooth along the sides of the nail.  Use a small amount of  acetone on a small brush to clean up any excess waterslide material on the nail tips and sidewalls.

           c. Vinyl decals, or loose glitters: press into place.

4.  Apply a layer of Glass to encapsulate and cure.  File, shape and buff.  (If using rhinestones, do not encapsulate in Glass; apply Glass and cure before applying sticky base and rhinestones.)

5.  Apply one coat of gel base coat and cure.

6.  Apply one coat of gel top coat and cure.

Pro Tips:

-  If the transfer appears streaky on the nail, it is likely the Sticky Base application.  Ritzy Sticky Base should be applied with smooth even strokes.

-  If the transfer slips and slides on your nail, the Sticky Base is not thoroughly dry.  Wait additional time.

- If the transfer applied with missing pieces, reapply the transfer to the nail and attempt to press on the missing piece.  It's possible that the Sticky Base wasn’t applied evenly or wasn’t completely dry in that area.  If desired, apply a small layer of Sticky Base in the area that has missing pieces, allow to dry, then reapply.

- If the transfer has any holo properties, applying pressure such as smoothing out or burnishing will negate some of the holo effect and appear as silver. Applying just enough pressure to transfer may help preserve some of the holo effect.

- Ritzy Sticky Base can be removed with alcohol.

-  Foil transfers can be removed before encapsulation by lightly filing them off then using alcohol on a wipe to remove the Sticky Base.

-  Ritzy Sticky Base is not recommended for large rhinestone application.

-  At all times while using Ritzy Sticky Base, avoid acrylic dust, filing dust, touching clothing or hair since this will reduce adhesion.

-  Ritzy Sticky Base is very sticky.  It will remain sticky until covered with nail art or encapsulated.

-  Ritzy Sticky Base can be applied to just a small area where you plan to apply nail art.  There is no need to cover the entire nail for small rhinestones or other small art.
